Getting High Over Chocolate Eggnog!!

Hey Hey hey!! It’s Eggnog time!!








Come Christmas you are hit with a flurry of memories, of Freshly baked Christmas cakes with that extra bit of cinnamon shouting out its Christmas, of tiny imperfect but delicious ginger bread battalion that mum would bake, times of relentless squabble over the last minced pie and the dramatic ‘getting high over Eggnog’ moments.    



Embracing the imminent festivities  and celebrating all the many good times I made my self a pitcher of delicious chocolate egg nog! It would be very Grinch of me to not share this awesome recipe!! SO here you go – EPIC Chocolate Eggnog!


3 Egg Yolks
3 Tbsp. Demerara Sugar( use more if you have a sweet tooth)
6 Tbsp. Cognac(Optional)
½ Cup Milk
½ Cup Thick Cream
1tsp Vanilla Essence
100gms Dark Chocolate
Grated Nutmeg

Mix the yolks, alcohol and sugar in a large bowl. Move the bowl to a simmering water bath and whisk the mix continuously until it turns thick and frothy. Blend in the melted dark chocolate as well. Remove the bowl from the water bath and once the mix is cooled add the milk, cream and vanilla whisking until you get a frothy mix. Sprinkle the nutmeg before you serve.
